One of my favorite stitches, the extended single crochet (exsc) allows for texture, more flexibility and a bit of a quicker crochet than the single crochet. This video walks you through the steps allowing you to learn while listening, watching and doing. Once you’ve got it, I would suggest that you try substituting the single crochet with this stitch and see how you like it!
The extended single crochet is abbreviated "EXSC" in your crochet patterns.
