Special Olympics Scarf Project
Tis the season. . . for charitable projects!!! I'm so excited, yesterday I went out and purchased the yarn for the Special Olympics Scarf Project! This is my first year participating, but I'm sure it won't be my last. The project is to collect scarves for Special Olympics participants to wear for their Winter games. The only criteria is to create the scarves in the selected colors for the year and as you can see by my photo the colors are red & blue.
The project is sponsored by Red Heart yarn company so the yarns being used are the Super Saver or Soft yarns by Red Heart. The information on this project is still being dispensed so you have plenty of time to get your yarn and decide what type of scarf you're going to create! Listed below are some of the places you can find information and directions about this project:
- Special Olympics Scarf Project on Facebook
- Special Olympics Scarf Project Website
- Red Heart Blog
In the next few weeks I plan on making available a special pattern created just for this project! Stay tuned, but in the meantime, go out and get your yarn!!!
