One World Trade Center - Phoenix Rising!

As a New Yorker, the World Trade Center Towers were my compass downtown. I'd look to see where they were and would know where to go from there. I'm a city girl, what can I say. On September 11, 2011 I lost my compass. Literally. I found it difficult to find my doctor's office without the towers.

The new One World Trade Center will rise from the ashes and give a new compass to the City and to the world. We will never forget what happened in 2001, but in 2011, we know that looking forward is the best recourse so we set our sites on once again shining through and being a beacon to the world.

How can I ever forget?

Today is the anniversary of one of the most painful days in our history. Forgive me if I don't wax poetic but I lived on 11th street between 3rd and 4th at the time, and it was VERY close to home.

For a full year, as I worked and commuted in The City, I mourned, without notice. Until it got close to the 1st anniversary and I realized that not only was I mourning, but my fellow New Yorkers were mourning as well.

I remember, I can never forget, and I hope that one day we, as a Nation, will get on the real path to right this wrong.
