Spiderwood Hollow

On Etsy, there's this lovely little shop called Spiderwood Hollow where spiders and other lovely creatures live. I have never particularly liked spiders or other creepy crawly things, but the ones that live at Spiderwood Hollow have earned my admiration! After having the opportunity to observe these creatures from afar, I contacted their "maker" and asked if she'd like to share her story with us. Ellen so graciously said yes and took the time out of playing with her spiders to answer a few questions!

Tell us a little bit about yourself
Hi everyone! I'm a 64 year old mother of two sons and grandmother to seven grandkids. I live with my husband, two adopted senior cats and one rescued kitten in Washington. I have always been creative and have tried most forms of art. I love making things or finding ways to make life better.

Copper Spider Web with Black Spider
Which of your items is your favorite and why?
I guess I would have to say I love the copper wire spider webs the most especially when I put a colorful spider on them. They are time consuming though I like the feeling I have spending time making them sturdy enough to last for years. Making webs brings me closer to nature. They make me feel quiet and peaceful when I look at them.

What is your favorite book, why?
I don't have a favorite book. Every book is a book I want to read, whether fiction or non-fiction. I read depending on the situation. I research every subject because I want to know what other people know. I only wish I had more time to just sit and escape in a world of my own by writing my own books. When I retire, I will finally relax and do just that. (Wink! Wink!)

What is your favorite food, Why?
My favorite foods are raw fruits and vegetables. I love to roam our yard in the summer picking spinach, peppers, kale, tomatoes, peas, beans and eatting them before they even get into the house. Strawberries, raspberries, apples, black berries and pears are also plentiful and make a nice snack when I'm out working in the garden.

If you knew you could not fail, what would you do?
If I knew I would not fail, I would write and publish ebooks on the internet.

Very cool spider webs! I am not a fan of spiders either, bu the webs are great.

Great story, I love to read what inspires other artists. Thanks for sharing.
