Chunky Crochet Slouchy Hat

In September I wrote about Yarn Obsession making its debut at The Sports Club LA/Boston. The holiday season was good and I sold quite a few pieces there. Last week I got a message from my contact saying, I only have one more item left, please send whatever you can. No problem!! So, this weekend I made a few of these cute hats along with a few other things (I will share later) to send out.

This hat is great because it's warm, stylish and fun! I've made them for my son, my nieces and I have some stashed away for later. . . . A few weeks ago Sara contacted me via convo at my Etsy Shop because she was having a bit of trouble with my hat pattern. I know sometimes the wording in a pattern can be confusing, which is why I always work on answering pattern questions quickly. Nothing like being in the middle of a pattern and not knowing what you did wrong or where to go from there. But I digress. . . I responded to her inquiry as soon as I could and told her not to worry, she'd surely get it done right.

Well, not that long afterwards I got another convo from her stating that she had indeed completed the hat and that her daughter loved it! Not only that, she improvised and added a strap with buttons to embellish the brim. She also let me know she was going to make a bunch more to sell at her daughter's school for a craft fair!

As you can see, she did an amazing job and it excites me to see her loving the pattern so much she wants to continue to work it over and over again!

Cropped Top Pattern!

So it's finally been released! This is my cropped knit and crochet top with long sleeves and I love it! You will too once you get your hands on it. Just in time for Spring, this top can be worn fancy or dressed down. It all depends on what look you'd like to exude. This piece is fun and, dare I say, practical!

What's your favorite color? Cause you can make this top in that color and be the envy of all your non-knitting and non-crocheting friends. They won't find this in the stores! But, beware, you may be asked to make it more than once.

Stitch Diva Studios

Stitch Diva Studios is a site I found while searching for random crochet hats. Sometimes I just think of a string to search and when I put it into the Blingo search engine really fun stuff comes up!

Growing on the road

The other day I was on the train going to work and I was working on this project. As I worked away, I noticed that some people were reading the newspaper, playing cards, sleeping and studying. I thought to myself, what a great way to get to work. After doing what you want while you get there, you're ready for the day! Not only are we keeping all our cars off the road for the hour + it would take us to get to work, but we get to have fun. . . anyway, as I was saying, I started Sugar Cubes Orange on Tuesday evening and it's growing on the road. Back and forth to work, and at lunch. I suppose I'll have the pattern written and posted by tomorrow evening and my new project ready for it's Etsy showing by Sunday (I'll be in NYC on Sat).
