Ring of Wire Ring Photos!

Last week Ring of Wire was having a contest on her Facebook page to celebrate the milestone of 200 fans (whoo hoo)! I was very excited for her, but when I noticed what the prize was on a certain day, I had to express not only my excitement for her, but for the lovely item I could win just by leaving a comment. So I left a comment and put it out of my mind.

Imagine my surprise when I got an email the next day saying I won! I did the happy dance and proceeded to tell everyone about my new ring. I promised to showcase it, but life got in the way (you know how that happens) and I didn't get to photograph and show it off last week. So, I decided to write a whole blog post and showcase it here. Isn't it lovely?!

Melissa of Ring of Wire does lovely work and I can't wait to have an excuse to get another ring from her. Go show her some love and let her know you saw her lovely work on Yarn Obsession!

Introducing "Amber"

Some of you may remember back in February when I had the “Show yourself some love” contest if you did a few things to help get the word out about my Facebook page and blog. I had a great time running that contest because in the end I knew there would be one lucky winner who could choose whatever they wanted from the Etsy Shop. Well at the end of that contest Amber Gintare was the winner and she decided to get her very own, custom made Knit Chunky Collar. I got busy and got it done before having my baby, but it took several weeks to reach Amber in Lithuania. Just last week she contacted me to say that she’d received her package and in her own words:

“OMG, it's so amazing. literally my jaw dropped. . . from the picture I could see it was beautiful, but in real - it's above beautiful. I am loving it! Thank you so so so much for it. It's really amazing (and all the people I showed it to were amazed)”

How could I not be happy to have made it especially for her! She selected the yarn color and I just worked it up. Then, I asked that she send me photos and boy did she deliver! So, I decided to do two things, with Amber’s permission of course: 1) I’m renaming the wrap to “Amber”: 2) and I’m using her lovely appreciation photos as the ads for the custom wrap.

Introducing Amber, in her “Amber”

More contests coming soon!

Contest Winner!

Running a contest is always so much fun! Not only do I get a bit of exposure, but I get to meet some really nice people who have at least the same love of yarn that I do! The "Show Yourself Some Love" contest was no different! I was hoping to get more people to know about the Facebook Page and the Yarn Obsession Shop as well as this blog and I think the mission was accomplished! I also wanted to have a reason to work on another project and that too was accomplished because we have a winner!

Congratulations to Amber Gintare who stopped by and let me know that she loves the Frill Edge Crochet Wrist Warmers
I'm not sure if that will be the item she chooses, but she has the opportunity to get a custom made item of her choice from the shop!

Thank you to everyone that stopped by and left a message. . . don't be discouraged, I'm gonna be running a few more contests cause I'm having such a great time with them! That means more opportunities to win more items!

As we look to Spring, expect to see some really cool Spring patterns as well as custom items hitting the shop in the coming weeks. . . of coures, I'll have to take a few weeks off soon to have my baby girl, but after that, we'll be having lots of fun!

January Contest Winners!!!

Happy New Year!!!

In the past two weeks I posted two contests on my blog and had a lot of fun considering the prizes! Although I hoped for more participation, I’m sure in the coming weeks that will take care of itself! So, without further delay I’d like to announce the winners and their prizes here today!

The first contest was for the prototype of my new neck warmer pictured here --->.
I wanted to hear about some of our men and women in uniform because yellow is the color of support. Congratulations to Karima who told us about her son-in-law Huey Robinson who on active duty overseas! We'll keep him and all the men and women in uniform in our thoughts. I’ll be sending the neck warmer in a few days so you can have it just as Winter gets “crazy”.

The second contest was just spur of the moment where I wanted to send something special to anyone letting me know what their plans were for the coming year! Congratulations to Ikkinlala who is planning to learn to drive this year as her main goal!!! You go girl! As a token of thanks for participating I’ll be sending you some handmade washcloths similar to the ones you can view here and a small sample soap from this Etsy Shop!

Come back soon for your chance at discount codes, prizes and valuable yarn information!

We have a winner!

Last week I posted about the decision to purchase a coat. You can read about it here. After making my decision on which coat I thought would be the best canvas for my wares, I ran a contest. The winner was Melissa! She correctly guessed that my coat choice was this one <------- the DKNY Fluted Sleeve Wool Blend in the color "Brindle"!

Congratulations Melissa! She won $5 off of anything in my Yarn Obsession Etsy Shop!

If you guessed correctly, I'm sorry the random numbers didn't fall in your favor, but that means you are paying attention. If you guessed incorrectly, there will be other opportunities so stay tuned. Thank you to everyone who participated!

I hope to have an image of the actual coat, that I received late last week, which is so wonderful. . . very soon!

Check out Melissa's shop!
